This is a hot cocoa that will really warm you up! Made in Mexico, where the ritual of drinking chocolate first originated, our Mexican Hot Chocolate is everything you love about traditional chocolate caliente — an intense cocoa flavor, a rich, spiced touch of cinnamon and a luscious frothy texture. No packet of chocolate powder here — this artisanal mix comes in the form of hand-molded bolitas (aka balls), crafted using organic cacao harvested in the country’s southern-most state of Chiapas and hand-milled with a traditional metate carved from volcanic stone for that authentic coarse-ground texture. We whipped up a batch for our team to sample as soon as it arrived here in Chicago and it was instant nostalgia for the folks who were lucky enough to grow up drinking it homemade. The general consensus fell somewhere between “tastes like home” and “just like my abuela made it.” How heartwarming is that! Ready to gift in a handwoven palm leaf basket, it’s a great way to give some cups of cheer to anyone in your life, from your coworkers and neighbors to your mail carrier and kids’ teachers.

To prepare, melt 3 to 6 chocolate bolitas in a pot with 1 cup of warm milk or water over medium heat. Press down on chocolate with a spoon and stir. Froth and serve. Add more bolitas for a more intense, chocolatey flavor. Also great for baking, making homemade mole… or just all on their own as candy!

All other non-furniture items can be returned for a full refund, as long as they are returned within either 30 days of purchase if bought in store or 30 days after the order was received if bought on our website.
